I am Ala Sharifi, a clinical psychologist specializing in child and adolescent mental health, with over seven years of experience. My expertise lies in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), neuropsychological assessments, and parent training, helping children, adolescents, and families manage emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges, including ADHD, mood disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
With a strong foundation in neuropsychology, I use evidence-based approaches to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized interventions aimed at reducing symptoms, improving emotional regulation, and enhancing daily functioning. A key part of my work involves supporting parents, helping them develop effective parenting strategies and better understand their child’s unique needs. I believe that parental guidance and collaboration are essential in fostering a supportive environment for children’s well-being.
Since moving to the Netherlands, I have also been dedicated to helping migrant families navigate the psychological and emotional challenges of adaptation, offering culturally sensitive care to support their adjustment and mental health.
In addition to my clinical work, I am actively involved in research on neural synchrony, using advanced neuroimaging techniques like fNIRS (functional near-infrared spectroscopy). My research enhances my clinical practice by providing deeper insights into how the brain processes social interactions, allowing me to refine therapeutic approaches based on scientific evidence.
My goal is to create a warm, supportive space where children, adolescents, and parents feel heard, understood, and empowered to overcome challenges.
