My name is AmirAli, and I am a clinical psychologist and psychoanalytically oriented therapist, registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS). For me, psychoanalytic psychotherapy is both a clinical treatment and a long-term, exploratory process. Within this approach, the therapeutic relationship creates a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space in which clients are encouraged to speak freely about whatever comes to mind, allowing for a gradual exploration of deeper layers of their inner experience.
My training and clinical work in psychoanalysis began with the Eitingon three-part model at the Tehran Psychiatric Institute and the Siavashan Institute. Alongside my theoretical education, I have pursued my own personal analysis with psychoanalysts from the Association of French-Speaking Psychoanalysts, within a Lacanian framework. In my clinical practice, I am primarily oriented toward the Freudian and Lacanian traditions, engaging with their work through ongoing and critical study.
I have also been influenced by the humanistic movement and the French tradition of institutional psychotherapy, and I am interested in extending the understanding of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy beyond the boundaries of the therapy room. In addition to my BPS registration, I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My main areas of focus include clinical psychology, psychoanalysis, and discourse analysis.
